Cats also worked on Michael Lasher’s campaign and he’s not some like barn burning lefty uh in in in New York. So like you know the there is an infrastructure of how campaigns are run. There is a consultant class that is genuinely financially threatened by left-wing candidates and DSA in particular surging because they don’t get their massive commissions if you’re doing door-knocking even if it’s more effective. We’re we want media buys. We want ad buys. We want the commission. And they go on TV. They are consultants. You look up these CNN contributors. It’s like, oh, this woman works at the consulting firm and shock. she hates DSA and leftists and it’s never disclosed.
And so I guess I’m just asking about your experience with that, your assessment of how the consultant class in the Democratic party has grown and is whining and bitching and is a big part of like, you know, this kind of narrative in the national press, but no one gets to acknowledge it and it’s not ever disclosed.
The consulting class is basically all that the Democratic Party is like at its core. I mean really because it’s not a membership organization, you know, it’s not structured like DSA where you’re a member and you go to regular meetings and you participate in activities and you have internal debates about what the what it’s going to be. It really is just basically a grift for consultants and they are the ones that get very upset them and you know the elected leaders that they’re in league with that get very upset when there’s any challenge to that model. So yes, those are going to be some where some of the fiercest battles are actually waged. And if you are someone like Morris Katz who is willing to upset the Apple cart and work with a Zohran Mamdani, then you are going to be um persona nangrada to them because you’re sort of betraying the consultant class solidarity. Yes. So I think there is a lot of that going on underneath the surface. Um, and it really is actually quite critical to the future of what the Democratic Party is ultimately going to be because yeah, those people are going to fight for their paychecks. There’s no doubt about it.
