How is it that the US Military Industrial Complex finds it hard to “Defend” the country, despite outspending Iran 100 to 1?
One Ford-class Aircraft carrier costs $13 billion, for a projected total of $120 billion, when all Ford-class Aircraft carriers are produced.1
A Reflection of the Military Industrial Complex?
How does this reflect on the efficiency of the American military industrial complex? Is there any accountability in the President’s 2027 budget which proposes a “defense” budget increase to $1.5 Trillion next year?

The USS George W. Bush (CVN-83) is the last Ford-class aircraft carrier with a projected completion date, which is scheduled for 2040.
While the program plans for up to 11 carriers to replace the Nimitz-class fleet by 2058, the known timeline for the final named vessel in the current procurement plan is as follows:
CVN-78 (Gerald R. Ford): Commissioned in 2017.
CVN-79 (John F. Kennedy): Projected delivery in March 2027.
CVN-80 (Enterprise): Projected delivery in July 2030.
CVN-81 (Doris Miller): Projected delivery in February 2032.
CVN-82 (William J. Clinton): Projected delivery in 2040.
CVN-83 (George W. Bush): Slated for procurement in 2034, with no specific completion date listed beyond the general fleet replacement goal.
